About Sussex Water Softener Co.
One name, two kinds of water: the Village of Sussex's municipal supply at 300 milligrams per liter, and the private wells of Town of Lisbon homes that share the Sussex name. This site is built for both. Here is who is behind it.
Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmThe company that owns the name
Sussex Water Softener Co. is a trade name belonging to ZeroGrain Water LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company.
We answer the calls, give one price, size each softener to the water and the household, supply the equipment and book the installation. A plumbing contractor licensed in Wisconsin does the installation work, since Wis. Stat. ch. 145 counts the softener's drain connection as plumbing.
What is not on offer
A sales visit to a Sussex or Lisbon living room. The price is given over the phone, and the plumbing contractor, arriving on install day, is the only visitor.
Treatment for anything but hardness. Softeners are not designed for bacteria or nitrate, and for a Lisbon well the Wisconsin DNR's advice is a lab test for bacteria every year or more often, on its own schedule.
Why Sussex needed a site of its own
Because the Sussex name covers two situations. The Village publishes 300 milligrams per liter, 17.5 grains, very hard by the USGS scale. The Town of Lisbon, with 11,284 residents by the state's 2026 estimate against the Village's 12,710, adds homes on private wells, where iron commonly travels with the hardness.
This site serves Sussex, the Village of Sussex and the Town of Lisbon.
Common questions
Is Sussex Water Softener Co. the same business as the plumber?
No. We quote, size and supply. The hands-on work belongs to a plumbing contractor holding a Wisconsin license.
